Nearly a year on from my first Sculptra treatment and I can really see the difference now. My first treatment was in May last year with Harley Street’s cosmetic doctor Angelica Kavouni, so it is a gradual treatment, but now my collagen is fully grown I finally feel that I am looking at my best at 46! I’ve had a lot of comments from family and friends on how well I look, and I love the fact that I can go to work every day at the zoo without make up!
Earlier this month I spent a busy day in London, which gave me the chance to speak to a lot of people that had shown interest in the treatments I have had, and more importantly allowing them to see the difference it has made.
I headed up to London early and started the day with a big round of radio interviews. The interviews actually ended up being aired on over 20 stations, not bad for a day’s work! I spent the afternoon having a glam photo shoot, so looking at the ‘after’ photos was the penultimate moment. Changes are so gradual that people don’t realise that you’ve had anything done, but I can’t help telling all of my girlfriends about my discovery and so it’s nice to get comments from people that just think you look good because you are high on life!
Now I have seen the before and after photos next to each other, you can really see that it works. I’m so pleased with how good Angelica has been during my Sculptra treatments. I have always been a big sun-worshipper, but until I met Angelica, I didn’t realise that the sun actually kills collagen! Because I’m half Malaysian I never burned in the sun, so I couldn’t even see the damage I was doing to my skin.
I will need a couple of treatments each year to maintain the look I have managed to achieve, but I am really happy with my new look. My cheeks have definitely plumped out, giving me more definition. I’ve always kept in shape so it’s nice to finally have the face to match my body, it feels amazing!
Choosing Sculptra over Botox and avoiding going under the knife has definitely been the right option for me. And the younger you start having Sculptra, the less you need, so I would recommend it to women in their thirties!
